Newborn Session :: Sugar & Spice

Today I blessed to be able to visit with this little beauty and her wonderful parents, who also happen to be my husband's cousin Nathan and his wife, Melissa. She is their first baby, and they are doing a fabulous job~ what a blessed girl! Being with this fresh and new little person took me back to when my kids were babies...there is so much you forget, because this stage seems to be gone in an instant. The funny cross-eye stares, the way they sleep through anything (once asleep!) and the cute pouty faces turn into smiles and make you wonder what they are dreaming about. This little bundle was w-i-d-e awake most of the day, and quite modest (does not like taking her clothes off) but our patience paid off and here are a few images from our session. After feeding, burping, rocking and letting Chloe, the puppy, join in on the action, she finally snoozed long enough to get some of those wonderful, sleepy pics that make newborns so endearing. Oh, and if you haven't figured it out, I love baby feet. Enjoy!

  3. These are absolutely precious! The most beautiful baby pictures I have ever seen. How can you possibly pick a favorite. Since I can't come see my great niece this was the next best thing. Wendy Phelan

  4. Wow! Thanks~ these are some images I've had in my head for a while, so it was wonderful to see them come together with Nate & Melissa's little one. Thankfully they didn't mind me hanging out for hours, because the last few images are literally from the last 20 minutes when she finally fell asleep and we could move her! And yes, I do love babies in general, so combining this with my work is unbelievably fun ;-)

Giving Back~ Organizations supported by Circle of Life Photography

In giving back, Circle of Life Photography's main goal is to help those experiencing extreme poverty and nourishing them with food, shelter and spiritual guidance. Education is a big part of helping people learn how to help themselves and change the downward spiral of poverty for a better future for themselves and their children. Locally, a more tangible way of giving back is through using my photography gifts to serve others who are experiencing crisis (see NILMDTS and Pillows of Love.)
