Newborn Session :: Sugar & Spice

Today I blessed to be able to visit with this little beauty and her wonderful parents, who also happen to be my husband's cousin Nathan and his wife, Melissa. She is their first baby, and they are doing a fabulous job~ what a blessed girl! Being with this fresh and new little person took me back to when my kids were babies...there is so much you forget, because this stage seems to be gone in an instant. The funny cross-eye stares, the way they sleep through anything (once asleep!) and the cute pouty faces turn into smiles and make you wonder what they are dreaming about. This little bundle was w-i-d-e awake most of the day, and quite modest (does not like taking her clothes off) but our patience paid off and here are a few images from our session. After feeding, burping, rocking and letting Chloe, the puppy, join in on the action, she finally snoozed long enough to get some of those wonderful, sleepy pics that make newborns so endearing. Oh, and if you haven't figured it out, I love baby feet. Enjoy!

Pretty In Pink :: Sweet Baby Girl

Baby girls are just so delightful and I had a wonderful time photographing this three month old bundle of pure sweetness this morning and catching up with her lovely mom. Who can resist kissing those tiny hands with creases at the wrist or not want to nibble those adorable little toes? Although she is her mommy and daddy's first baby, she has a little competition for attention with the Lehman family's two adorable beagles... but I predict that in time she will handle them just fine... by their ears, tails, fur... ;-) So here are a few images to share from our session today. Enjoy!

are these not the most perfect, pouty lips??

Happy in Hershey :: A Sweet Family

This morning it was a bit dreary and just plain cold outside, which was a big switch for this family visiting family in Hershey all the way from Southern California. Despite the conditions, the kids were sweet and I managed to get a few smiles and just plain cute images of Julie & Brendan's adorable daughter and son. Often I come away from a session and wonder if I'll have anything worth showing the family, so I say a little prayer for God to reveal just how He sees us through images, and so far I have yet to be disappointed. Some families just lend themselves to a style of images that, while they look nice in color, literally 'sing' in black and white. The kids have beautiful blue eyes, and I may post some more pics of those later, but for now I am just in love with how they turned out.

Dave & Caroline :: A Happy New Year together

Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing a mini-session on a very COLD, brisk New Year's Day~ my husband's cousin, Dave and his wife, Caroline were married in August and we met Caroline for the first time while visiting with family. Dave tends to be on the quiet side, and it wonderful to see how Caroline lights up his life, literally. I think the only other time I have seen that same light is when he talks about his ministry work and what the Lord is doing in his life ;-) Caroline is so sweet (not to mention beautiful) and was so excited to have portraits done~ she is a girl after my own heart in that she loves black & white photography~ there is something so classic and timeless about the images. Enjoy!

Giving Back~ Organizations supported by Circle of Life Photography

In giving back, Circle of Life Photography's main goal is to help those experiencing extreme poverty and nourishing them with food, shelter and spiritual guidance. Education is a big part of helping people learn how to help themselves and change the downward spiral of poverty for a better future for themselves and their children. Locally, a more tangible way of giving back is through using my photography gifts to serve others who are experiencing crisis (see NILMDTS and Pillows of Love.)

Compassion International~ Haiti's Child Survival Project

Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation (NILMDTS) gently provides a helping hand and a healing heart for families overcome by the grief and pain of the death of their newborn or infant. Offering gentle and beautiful photography services in a compassionate and sensitive manner is the heart of this organization. The soft, gentle heirloom photographs of these beautiful babies are an important part of the healing process. They allow families to honor and cherish their babies, and share the spirits of their lives. I am an active NILMDTS volunteer photographer for Penn State Milton S.
