Coming soon :: Larger blog images!

If you check back from time to time, I have been s-l-o-w-l-y making some changes to the blog here and hope to complete the new look sometime early in the new year. One of the things I am excited to do is feature the images BIGGER...and of course I should share an example... I wanted to post this favorite image back in October, but I had to wait until it went out on their family Christmas cards so not to ruin the surprise ;-)

2009~ Looking forward to a great year!

I know that sounds a little overly-optimistic considering the state of the economy, and yet I can't help but be excited for all that a new year promises to hold. It may be a time to reconsider the 'essentials' in material things we wish for...and still not miss capturing those moments of growth and change within our own lives and families. I plan to keep my pricing affordable so you can treasure those moments that seem to pass so quickly. There are several aspects of my business on which I plan to expand in 2009...to include senior sessions, special baby/child pricing, a special program for adoptive families, mini-session days next fall, and a few more ideas up my sleeve which I can't wait to reveal!  I hope that you have a wonderful Christmas season and that you may be richly blessed with the love of friends, family and the One you cares about you more than any person in the world.
Blessings,
~marci

Christmas surprise

This morning my good friends Jen & Stacey, along with Stacey's brother Shawn and sister Diana, braved the cold for a fun little photo session in Marietta. The idea is for the portraits to be gifts for their parents for Christmas...I can't resist posting a few, so hopefully they won't somehow find this site and ruin the surprise! Needless to say we were all thankful for a hot cup of coffee afterward, but I think the pics were worth it!

The Many Expressions of Baby O.

Today I was blessed to spend some time with my dear friend, Joy, and her son, now three months old. It was amazing to see how he has grown. (See Tiny Blessing in an earlier post.) This little guy just melts my heart and I wish I could capture all of his great expressions~ he has so many! I did have have to put the one of him and the Santa hat in the post, a gift from Grandpa, which did not go over so well~ it's like he's saying, "Mommy, pleaaaseee..."

As I look at his tiny face and hands I wonder what Mary thought two thousand+ years ago as she held her little boy, kissed his face and gazed into the eyes of God. What a miracle. May you experience the wonder and amazement of His gift this holiday season.

Giving Back~ Organizations supported by Circle of Life Photography

In giving back, Circle of Life Photography's main goal is to help those experiencing extreme poverty and nourishing them with food, shelter and spiritual guidance. Education is a big part of helping people learn how to help themselves and change the downward spiral of poverty for a better future for themselves and their children. Locally, a more tangible way of giving back is through using my photography gifts to serve others who are experiencing crisis (see NILMDTS and Pillows of Love.)

Compassion International~ Haiti's Child Survival Project

In 2011-12, Circle of Life Photography makes a monthly $30 donation to the non-profit organization, Compassion International, whose goal is to change Haiti through the rescue, nuture and discipling of children during the critical early childhood years.

Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Foundation

http://www.nowilaymedowntosleep.org/

Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation (NILMDTS) gently provides a helping hand and a healing heart for families overcome by the grief and pain of the death of their newborn or infant. Offering gentle and beautiful photography services in a compassionate and sensitive manner is the heart of this organization. The soft, gentle heirloom photographs of these beautiful babies are an important part of the healing process. They allow families to honor and cherish their babies, and share the spirits of their lives. I am an active NILMDTS volunteer photographer for Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Lancaster Women & Babies Hospital.

Joni & Friends Family Retreat

http://www.joniandfriends.org

I am honored to be a volunteer photographer at the Joni & Friends Family Retreat in the Poconos (Spruce Lake Retreat) for a week each summer (click here for past blog post.) Joni & Friends seeks to serve as a ministry of outreach to people with disabilities and their families across the US and around the world. Families from around the country attend Family Retreats seeking relaxation, encouragement and a time to strengthen their family.
