Coming soon :: Larger blog images!

If you check back from time to time, I have been s-l-o-w-l-y making some changes to the blog here and hope to complete the new look sometime early in the new year. One of the things I am excited to do is feature the images BIGGER...and of course I should share an example... I wanted to post this favorite image back in October, but I had to wait until it went out on their family Christmas cards so not to ruin the surprise ;-)

2009~ Looking forward to a great year!

I know that sounds a little overly-optimistic considering the state of the economy, and yet I can't help but be excited for all that a new year promises to hold. It may be a time to reconsider the 'essentials' in material things we wish for...and still not miss capturing those moments of growth and change within our own lives and families. I plan to keep my pricing affordable so you can treasure those moments that seem to pass so quickly. There are several aspects of my business on which I plan to expand in 2009...to include senior sessions, special baby/child pricing, a special program for adoptive families, mini-session days next fall, and a few more ideas up my sleeve which I can't wait to reveal!  I hope that you have a wonderful Christmas season and that you may be richly blessed with the love of friends, family and the One you cares about you more than any person in the world.
Blessings,
~marci

Christmas surprise

This morning my good friends Jen & Stacey, along with Stacey's brother Shawn and sister Diana, braved the cold for a fun little photo session in Marietta. The idea is for the portraits to be gifts for their parents for Christmas...I can't resist posting a few, so hopefully they won't somehow find this site and ruin the surprise! Needless to say we were all thankful for a hot cup of coffee afterward, but I think the pics were worth it!

The Many Expressions of Baby O.

Today I was blessed to spend some time with my dear friend, Joy, and her son, now three months old. It was amazing to see how he has grown. (See Tiny Blessing in an earlier post.) This little guy just melts my heart and I wish I could capture all of his great expressions~ he has so many! I did have have to put the one of him and the Santa hat in the post, a gift from Grandpa, which did not go over so well~ it's like he's saying, "Mommy, pleaaaseee..."

As I look at his tiny face and hands I wonder what Mary thought two thousand+ years ago as she held her little boy, kissed his face and gazed into the eyes of God. What a miracle. May you experience the wonder and amazement of His gift this holiday season.

Senior Portrait Session :: Meghan

Coming soon: senior portraits!! Meghan and I have been playing tag with our calendars for a few months...so finally today we got together so I could work on getting some senior images on the blog. We nearly froze our butts off (my fingers too!) but she was super sweet about it and here are some of my favorite images from our mini-session. She is a beautiful person from the inside out, so it was hard to choose just a few! Enjoy! (p.s. any 2009 seniors who have put off getting their portraits taken, contact me for some sweet discounts!)

:: Weidler Kids ::

Today's attempt at photographing the kids went much better than the last time I tried. I really wished for some amazing pics of our own kiddos to have made into Christmas cards. They were unusually cooperative and I acknowledge that bribery was key in getting them to work with me (nothing like the promise of a Frosty to get what you want!) Here are a few from our mini-session this afternoon, and yes, we each enjoyed our Frostys afterward. I was pleased at how the images pretty well reflect their personalities... Syd's sweet demeanor, Ike's mischievious smirk, and Sam's giggle come through in a way even I didn't expect! Enjoy!

Simply Canvas Gallery Wraps!

I can't say enough about these amazing canvases from Simply Canvas! You can choose from a single portrait or I will create a unique design featuring your family (or a member if it)~ then it is printed on canvas, skillfully wrapped around a wooden frame and (literally) ready to hang on the wall out of the box. No framing, fussing or figuring out what mat color matches. It's really that simple! Not to mention an affordable investment you will always have & cherish.

Now, if you love your images framed, Simply Canvas does offer wooden floating frames for any size gallery wrap, and it just pops around the wrap~ again, EASY, no need for matting or glass, and beautiful to boot.

So, if you are thinking about unique wall art for your home, office or as a one-of-a-kind gift for a loved one, gallery wraps are IT!! I have three sizes as samples and you are welcome to stop in and check them out! (and this will be my incentive to keep my office area neat, lol)

Below I took a few quick pics of the gallery wrap that arrived today:

this design...

becomes this gallery wrap:
this is the only company I know of that lets you
wrap a design & text around the border:
...signed & dated!

I have the design below in a gallery wrap~
stop in sometime to check it out!

The Best Day of Her Life (so far)

This is little cutie belongs to my friend Marlo, and she was having her own little adventure crawling through leaves at the park...it was her first time doing so, and she could not contain her delight! These little ones just capture my heart...I hope you enjoy these images as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Tyson Family

This afternoon I got to hang out with the Tyson crew for a little while and enjoyed getting to know more about them. Their 13 year old 'baby', Chelsea joined us for a couple of pics, and we had fun tromping around the neighbors' yards and a nearby cornfield for some others. Thanks again to Doreen, Lauren, Kyle & Kelly for appeasing my 'let's try this out and see what happens' ~ I was happy with the results and hope you will be too!

Realty1 :: Holly

Time for more photos from the Realty1 crew! I met with Holly Himelfarb yesterday to some capture some images so she can update her realtor photos. I especially like the second one! Holly works at the Realty1 Lancaster office and happens to be Heidi Risser's twin sister, if you haven't figured that one out from the previous posts. Holly's email is hhimelfarb@realty1.com if you have any real estate questions!

Giving Back~ Organizations supported by Circle of Life Photography

In giving back, Circle of Life Photography's main goal is to help those experiencing extreme poverty and nourishing them with food, shelter and spiritual guidance. Education is a big part of helping people learn how to help themselves and change the downward spiral of poverty for a better future for themselves and their children. Locally, a more tangible way of giving back is through using my photography gifts to serve others who are experiencing crisis (see NILMDTS and Pillows of Love.)

Compassion International~ Haiti's Child Survival Project

http://www.nowilaymedowntosleep.org/

Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation (NILMDTS) gently provides a helping hand and a healing heart for families overcome by the grief and pain of the death of their newborn or infant. Offering gentle and beautiful photography services in a compassionate and sensitive manner is the heart of this organization. The soft, gentle heirloom photographs of these beautiful babies are an important part of the healing process. They allow families to honor and cherish their babies, and share the spirits of their lives. I am an active NILMDTS volunteer photographer for Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Lancaster Women & Babies Hospital.

Joni & Friends Family Retreat

I am honored to be a volunteer photographer at the Joni & Friends Family Retreat in the Poconos (Spruce Lake Retreat) for a week each summer (click here for past blog post.)
